Bunpro is where many learners build their grammar; Yokoso is where that grammar meets shop doors, price tags, and the phrase that gets the check. The import connects them: grammar you've learned on Bunpro doesn't get re-taught here.
Bunpro's API shares your recently learned grammar, not your complete history — so a years-deep Bunpro account imports its recent work, and older grammar gets picked up naturally by Yokoso's placement probes instead (which skip anything you demonstrate you know). Your key passes through our stateless proxy to bunpro.jp and is never stored server-side.
Bunpro drills grammar as grammar; Yokoso proves it transfers. When you've used a pattern correctly a few times, Yokoso names it and tests it on a sentence you've never seen — the "Pattern Found" moment. And the vocabulary, kanji, signs, and price drills around it are the parts of daily Japan that a grammar SRS doesn't cover. If you're also on WaniKani, that imports too — all three tools, no repeated work.
